2024 Holy Week Festival
During Holy Week of 2024, a number of northern artists participated. A variety of music was performed; classical music, traditional choral music and exuberant klezmer music.
In Skjólbrekka on Epiphany on March 28, Trio Sírajón performed one of the masterpieces of chamber literature, a trio by Béla Bartók and theater music by Hjálmar H. Ragnarsson, who rewrote the music especially for the trio.
A fifty-member choir, Sálubót, from Þingeyjarsveit, sang and expressive and lively klezmer music was performed by the instrumentalists.
On Good Friday March 29 in Reykjahlíðar Church, a comprehensive program was put together with reference to traditions and to commemorate the day.
