2019 Festival
The 2019 festival opened on April 18, Holy Thursday, with a chamber concert at Skjólbrekka community center. The concert featured one of the most splendid chamber works in the musical canon, Dvorák’s piano quintet. Other pieces performed included arias, solos, and duets by various composers.
On April 19, Good Friday, the festival continued with a concert at Reykjahlíðarkirkja church. The centerpiece of the program was Pergolesi’s remarkably beautiful Stabat Mater.
Performers included soprano Hrafnhildur Árnadóttir, mezzo-soprano Hildigunnur Einarsdóttir, violinist Laufey Sigurðardóttir, violinist Sigurlaug Eðvaldsdóttir, violist Vivi Erickson, cellist Júlía Mogensen, and pianist/organist Peter Máté.
